THE FRENCH CUFF

The French cuff is dressier than the single-length cuff.  You’ll tend to wear a French cuff with tuxedos or for formal events.

Step 1

Fold over the cuff, so the holes align, also known as “kissing.”

Step 2

Place the back of the cufflink through the holes.

THE BARREL/CONVERTIBLE CUFF

This type is more common and more casual. You will likely wear casual cufflinks with this shirt.

Step 1

Pull out both sides of the fabric, so holes line up.

Step 2

Place the back of the cufflink through the holes.

When to Wear Cufflinks

Men usually wear cufflinks at formal and semi-formal functions. Lately, men have worn cufflinks with casual wear. So wear cufflinks whenever you want. But make sure the type of cufflinks you wear fit the occasion.
